The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI)

The CHMI was established on the basis of the government order of the Czechoslovak Republic No. 96/1953 Coll. with effect from 1st January 1954. The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute is the central state institution in the Czech Republic in the fields of air quality, hydrology, water quality, climatology and meteorology and provides objective professional services, primarily for state administration authorities.
